SACRAMENTO - Assemblymember Kristin Olsen, R-Modesto, today released her office budget to the public showing how much she spends on staff salaries, travel, utilities, supplies and other office expenses. Olsen released her budget document after the Assembly Rules Committee, which oversees lawmakers' budgets, refused to release current budget documents to the media. "I released my office budget because the public has a right to know how taxpayer dollars are being spent," said Assemblymember Olsen.  "This should not be a big deal. Taxpayer money should be public."

SACRAMENTO - Assemblymember Kristin Olsen, R-Modesto, honored Waterford resident Josh Whitfield as the 2011 Veteran of the Year for the 25th Assembly District during a special lunch at the State Capitol on June 22nd.

SACRAMENTO - Assemblymember Kristin Olsen, R-Modesto, today issued the following statement following the Legislature's passage of a majority vote budget:

"Californians deserve an on-time, balanced budget that reflects their priorities, but that's not what this proposal is. This budget is only a temporary solution and does nothing to fix California's long-term fiscal health.

SACRAMENTO - Assemblymember Kristin Olsen, R-Modesto, today joined with her Assembly Republican colleagues to unveil a "Roadmap for a No Tax Increase Budget," which will help the state close its remaining $15.4 billion budget deficit, fully fund the constitutional guarantee for education and protect local law enforcement - without raising taxes.

SACRAMENTO-Today, Assembly Bill 991 by Assemblymember Kristin Olsen, R-Modesto, won the unanimous approval of the Assembly Business, Professions and Consumer Protection Committee.  This bill creates the California Licensing and Permit Center, an online one-stop-shop for state level permits and licenses.

Assemblymember Kristin Olsen, R-Modesto, will host three Community Coffees in April. Olsen and her staff will be on hand to meet constituents and answer questions about state-related issues.  Community members are invited to attend and share their thoughts and ideas on important issues facing our State.
