Tax Reform

Californians are already being taxed to death, yet the legislature is constantly proposing new ways to tax hard-working families. Just in the last couple of years we have seen an increase in sales tax and income tax, an increase in DMV licensing fees, a new fire tax on rural residents, and more.

It’s time to tell the legislature to get its hands out of our pockets and get its own house in order by cutting spending and prioritizing core services.  We must also advocate for tax policies that encourage jobs to locate in and remain in Calfornia.

As an Assemblymember, I am fighting to make sure the California legislature understands that the people of the Central Valley are not their personal piggy bank. It is time to reverse the burdening taxes that have helped put the state in the financial mess it is in right now.

Let’s give money back to the families and businesses that are struggling to make ends meet in order to increase consumer spending and get the economy back on track.
