Assemblywoman and lifelong Stanislaus County resident Kristin Olsen will seek a seat on the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors following the surprise retirement of Supervisor Bill O’Brien.
“Bill has been a strong leader for our community,” said Olsen. “When he asked me to run to succeed him on the Board, I was surprised at first, but soon realized that it presented a great opportunity to continue serving my community.”
Olsen has a strong background in local government, as she previously served on both the Modesto Planning Commission and the Modesto City Council before being elected to the State Assembly. She served on the council from 2005 to 2010, where she was recognized for her commitment to fiscal responsibility, public safety, and economic development.
Since being elected to the State Assembly, Olsen has consistently remained one of the Legislature’s fiercest advocates for government transparency and accountability.
